This scientific article examines the organizational and production characteristics of construction companies and possible approaches to organizing management accounting. Methodological, organizational, and technical obstacles arise when organizing management accounting in companies in this industry. To overcome these obstacles, the author has developed methodological recommendations that pave the way for the implementation of management accounting. The construction business is also characterized by the fact that it requires a long construction process, standardized project costing, separate accounting for construction projects, etc. Therefore, the author proposes that approaches to accounting and reporting systems be specific and tailored to support management decision-making. It has been established that management accounting in companies must be tailored to each individual. The information generated by management accounting in construction companies facilitates the consolidation of control over the key indicators identified by the author, thereby facilitating effective management decision-making. To implement a management accounting system in a construction company, taking into account the specifics of its operations, the author proposes the following tasks: approving a chart of accounts and financial reporting forms; accelerating data entry into internal management reporting; recording data in reports based on electronic copies rather than paper forms; immediate data entry into management reporting, etc. In conclusion, the author presents in Figure 1 a unified model for reflecting accounting data related to cost accounting and financial results from sales for construction companies. Its implementation requires no additional costs and, within a single information system, ensures the preparation of the necessary information for both financial and management accounting.
