The article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of assessing investment attractiveness and project efficiency in the regional food industry. The necessity of a comprehensive approach combining financial-economic, institutional, innovative, and integral methods is substantiated, allowing for a realistic reflection of sectoral and regional investment specificities. Key directions for improving the methodological toolkit are identified - the transition from isolated financial indicators to a systemic, integral assessment encompassing economic, institutional, and social effectiveness of investment activities. It is shown that classical methods (NPV, IRR, PI, DPP, ARR, ROI, EVA) constitute the basis of quantitative analysis but require adaptation to regional conditions, considering seasonality, logistics constraints, and institutional risks. The author proposes a methodology for constructing an integral index of investment attractiveness in the food industry, based on normalization of indicators, expert weighting, and aggregation of partial criteria into a single composite measure. It is demonstrated that the application of integral and ESG-based approaches helps reveal the multiplicative effects of investment - employment growth, income increase, budget revenue expansion, technological modernization, and regional sustainability. The research results improve the accuracy of investment analysis and managerial decision-making and provide scientific and practical recommendations for enhancing mechanisms of attracting investment into the regional food industry.
