The agricultural sector is considered one of the most important sectors of the national economy and plays a key role in ensuring the country's food security. Sustainable development of the sector allows the country to reduce its dependence on food imports and increase selfsufficiency. Agriculture, as a strategic sector, is the primary foundation for food security, and its comprehensive development contributes to improved living standards, economic stability, and national security. This article examines the role of the agricultural sector in ensuring food security. It analyzes agricultural production volumes in individual regions of the republic, the ratio of livestock production in the regions, and the types of farms within the republic. A number of proposals are put forward for further improvement and enhancement of the country's agricultural sector. Key areas for implementing the development of the agricultural sector and its role in ensuring food security are substantiated and proposed.
