The article examines the current state and development prospects of the building materials industry in the Republic of Tajikistan. The historical stages of the industry's formation are consistently reviewed, the role of the mineral and raw material base is characterized, and the production capacities of enterprises along with their utilization dynamics are analyzed. Particular attention is given to the transformation of the product range, the technological improvement of production processes, and the strengthening of cross-sectoral integration. Considerable focus is placed on foreign economic activity — including the structure and volumes of export and import operations — as well as on investment dynamics and technical modernization objectives. A stable trend has been identified toward a gradual shift in industry priorities: from the production of raw materials toward the output of higher value-added products and the expansion of the product portfolio. It is concluded that the industry possesses significant growth potential, the realization of which requires comprehensive production modernization, an elevation of its technological level, and the consistent strengthening of competitiveness in both domestic and foreign markets.
