The article discusses current issues regarding the construction and optimization of multiservice communication networks. The author conducted a retrospective analysis of the telecommunications market development in the Republic of Tajikistan for the period 2000–2026, revealing a shift from the extensive quantitative growth of operators to the necessity of qualitative infrastructure modernization. Special attention is paid to overcoming the technical contradiction between basic Ethernet technology and the strict requirements of modern multimedia services for Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. The author proposes a proprietary approach to implementing the concept of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) based on Linux, which allows for guaranteed traffic transmission parameters without significant capital expenditures on hardware upgrades. The research results can be utilized by small and medium-sized organizations for the effective transformation of local area networks into a full-fledged multiservice environment.
